This web site contains all information about horses while emphasizing on the breeding ponies in Thailand. It is inspired by the lacking of knowledge in the field of horses and ponies in terms of a local or a grass root. I also have tried my best using direct experiences or Know – How to describe in several aspects as many as I could. In Thailand, we also have the studbooks to record the raced horse from many parts of the world; on the other hand, we never have the history of the dominant horses or ponies that assists our ancestors fighting with enemies in the battle fields. At that time, Thais survived but Thai’s ponies lose. |

The blood lines were mixed from 3 major breeds, the Thoroughbred, the Quarter horse and the local pony. The foals of the first generation are produced by using the Thoroughbred stallion with the local mare in order to increase the height and to enlarge the width of the body. The fully growth mares of the first generation then were crossed with the Quarter horse stallion to reinforce strength of muscles and to keep a well trained and a good tempered characteristics. The foals produced at this stage were the 2nd generations.
The mares of the 2nd generations are now 2 years of age (year 2007) and are temporarily called the “ThaiPony” type. These mares are going to be crossed with the paint studhorse (named OangArt @ 3 years old in 2008) in the next generation and this will fulfill the ThaiPony blood line in the near future.
All information is welcome to kpoomsang@yahoo.com or at my web board and my place is located in Chumphorn, the first province on the southern part of Thailand.
